WELCOME TO
EAST LANCS DIVING CLUB
East Lancs Diving Club is created for
the recreational diver who wishes to dive on a regular basis
in this country and abroad at an affordable cost.
We are a non-profit making club and
we believe that recreational diving need not be expensive.
We have a vast amount of diving gear and our members have
a tremendous depth of knowledge about diving and can guide
and assist you, whether you are a beginner or a more experienced
diver. We have expertise in all fields of recreational diving.
We also service all scuba gear to IDEST standard. There is
free air (to 300 bar) to all members. If you dive on a regular
basis this will help to keep costs down and even pay for your
membership and courses!
We have a dedicated team of trainers,
including Staff instructors, speciality Instructors, Open
Water Instructors, Emergency First Response (First Aid and
CPR) Instructors and Divemasters who have world wide experience
and a love of diving to pass on to new scuba divers. They
give up their time freely to the club.
The club can offer training in the following
PADI courses: -
- Bubblemaker (For children 8 to 12)
- Open Water and Junior Open Water
- Advanced Open Water

- Specialities to Master Scuba Diver
(this is the highest non-professional PADI rating)

We can also offer crossovers from BSAC
or other qualifications to PADI but we welcome all divers
to just come and dive with us.

First Response (EFR) courses are also available. Primary
and Secondary Care and Care for Children.
This is just a small part of what ELDC
can offer members. Becoming a member will make you part of
our team of recreational and professional scuba divers with
the highest standards that are the envy of others.
The Open Water course takes a few weeks
in the pool, followed by teaching and an exam in the classroom
where our instructors will help you. Then the four open water
dives at Capernwray, an inland dive site near Carnforth. Once
you have met all the performance requirements your will be
certified as an Open Water Diver, a qualification that is
recognised world wide.
Remember you can take as long as you
need to learn with us. We do not charge for extra time.
At ELDC we do have equipment for hire
and sale. However, we do not sell you the latest fashion wear
or diving gear at inflated prices. We will not give you stars
or points or credits to get you to buy more. Nor do we push
you through a course too quickly and then charge you again
when you fail to meet the performance requirements set the
first time.
ELDC will provide all equipment free
when on a course.
When you are ready to buy we can provide
all your diving equipment. The equipment we supply has had
excellent reports in ‘Diver’ magazine. The BCDs
won high praise and the regulators are described as impeccable
in the way they deliver air. These offers are available only
to members. We do not sell to the general public. If you want
something particular then we can
offer 10 – 20 % discounts at selected local large dive
stores when you produce your ELDC membership card. |
